Lucia and Matt were introduced to each other through friends in Orlando and spent an evening at Epcot as a group on their first date- fun right?! Matt works for Disney and Lucia works for the UCF College of Medicine. They hit it off right away and proved that good friends can actually pick a great match!
Lucia and Matt were married at one of my new favorite locations in Florida – The Maitland Art Center. Seriously, if I were going to renew my vows with Dana this would be one of my top three venues to choose from and bonus that it’s just outside Melbourne in the Orlando area. Not that we’re ready for a do-over just yet but I think it would be cool to do something small one day, maybe for 20 years?
The Maitland Art Center is located on Lake Lily and was originally founded as an art colony in 1937 by architect Andre’ Smith – a rare example of “Mayan Revival” or fantasy architecture. I loved the market lighting and lanterns Lucia had strung over the reception. Her black and white color palette was complimented by fresh pops of green and plenty of sentimental touches to keep all the details special and meaningful.
