I first met Kelsey and Richard at Charles and Michelle’s wedding last December. Richard even drove with me from the Gaylord to the Royal Crest Room to help with directions. I remember he told me about Kelsey and how they had been talking about marriage. It wasn’t long after that they were engaged and contacted me to photograph their March 2013 wedding. I was thrilled of course because by then I had gotten to know them not only from that wedding day but they also came into the studio with Michelle and Charles for their Opening Night. We got together to talk about their wedding coverage and I learned even more about how they met and the proposal.
Kelsey and Richard are both engineers, how cute and smart is that? They met through mutual friends and have been dating for four years. I loved the story of their proposal! Once a year Richard plans a trip for them to get away, and it’s always a surprise. How fun is that even without a proposal?? So this year’s trip he told Kelsey at the airport that they would be going to London, but only if she would go as his fiance! He proposed right there next to the Christmas tree in the Orlando airport while family and friends (invited for the big surprise) watched and cheered from the second floor.
The wedding plans are coming together for the Porcher House ceremony and Eau Gallie Yacht Club reception (with lots of my favorite vendors!) I love everything Kelsey has told me about the colors and plans so far but I’ll keep that a secret for now. After shooting this gorgeous engagement session and getting together yesterday to plan their guest book album, save the dates and storyboard design, I feel like I know Kelsey and Richard really well and can’t wait for their big day!! It makes such a difference to develop a genuine relationship with clients. The more familiar I am with them as friends, the more true emotion I can anticipate and capture on their wedding day. By that time they are comfortable with me and I’m tuned in to who they are both as individuals and as a couple. Also, Kelsey is a fellow SYTYCD fan so we are pretty much blood relatives now.
What a beautiful couple!
Thanks Kelsey and Richard for trusting Angel Gray Photography with your wedding day coverage. I can’t wait!
